Through personal experience in giving birth to her handsome baby boy in 2007, Dominique’s interest in healthcare was first sparked. Dominique figured out when going for her monthly visits to her Obstetrician and seeing the details that went into a pregnancy, it was what she wanted to pursue. In 2008, she studied to be a Medical Assistant where she completed an internship at an OB/GYN for six weeks, and was then hired on full-time. The day-to-day excitement working with expectant mothers, assisting in procedures and ultrasounds quickly showed her how much she loved being in the medical field. After working as a Medical Assistant for five years there, she was introduced to Senior Living. It was love at first sight!
With this interest in Senior Living, Dominique decided to get certified as a Caregiver. Her first job in the field was in a private ten bed home in Catalina, Az. While working for this home, she was able to help with the planning of daily activities, entertainment, outings and fun! After getting this amazing experience; she wanted to be in a larger community setting. After being hired as a caregiver at Brookdale in Oro Valley and working in that role for about two months, she was promoted to a Med Tech and shift supervisor. She truly enjoyed working as a caregiver and Med Tech. Having one-on-one time with residents was very important to her and working in these positions gave her that opportunity.
After seven months working at Brookdale, Dominique was offered the position of Program Director, where she spent two years providing programming for the residents. She then moved to Elmcroft Senior Living as their Healthy Lifestyles Director, where she was able to show her talents as the Director of Fun! When she found out that her former Executive Director, Agie, was going to be at a brand new community she knew she wanted to join him. She is so excited and honored to be a part of the Quail Park family now!
When not in her professional role as the Life Engagement Director at Quail Park, she is a football mom cheering on her 10-year-old son as the quarterback for his tackle football team who are back-to-back two-time champions, the Marana Broncos! She also enjoys being very active in her community. She was recently asked to be a part of the Southern Arizona Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee and is also a huge supporter of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. Dominique loves the beach, music, hiking and enjoying time with friends and family. She is looking forward to serving seniors in Oro Valley!
